Editing Buttons

Editing Buttons are used to insert markup text into the Editor Window. The place where this happens depends on the position of the cursor in the Editor Window:

  • If a series of character has been selected by the cursor, the button generally applies to just this selection.
  • If the cursor is placed within marked-up text (e.g. a link or string of italic characters), the button generally applies to that text.
  • If the cursor is not inside marked-up text, headings will apply the the entire line, a link would be inserted,

Some buttons operate on selected characters in the text. The buttons are as shown below:

Button Function Select place
Click once in Editor Window
Select string
Drag cursor to select several characters
Bullet List Changes the current line and subsequent lines to unordered list items
Numbered List Changes the current line and subsequent lines to ordered list items
Indent Adds a space (:) to the left of the selected line
Undent Remove last indent or list item from this and subsequent lines
Italic Remove italics around cursor, if any Display selected text in italics
Bold Remove boldness from around cursor, if any Display selected text in bold
Link Create or edit a [[ ]] link, including [[IMAGE: image.jpg]] links
Large Heading Change entire line to a large header Change selected characters to a large header
Medium Heading Change entire line to a medium header Change selected characters to a medium header
Small Heading Change entire line to a small header Change selected characters to a small header
Create Image Upload and display an image (similar to Link button)
Table Editor Displays a EzMarkup table as an editable matrix
