WHAT TO EXPECT ON A SUNDAY MORNING
Ours
is an informal and welcoming church. We are open to many spiritual
paths towards meaning. We are a non-creedal, non-doctrinal
congregation, which means we have no creeds, or beliefs you must
subscribe to attend or join. We often say “come as you are”. Dress is
casual and informal. Children are welcome in the services. However, if
they become noisy or restless we invite parents to try our dynamic
religious education program or our ‘cry room’ just off the sanctuary
where you can watch and hear the service without distracting others.
Our worship services look much like standard worship services in other
settings. We usually begin with welcoming, lighting of the chalice (our
symbol of truth and love), listen to music, sing songs, share joys and
sorrows as we feel comfortable doing so, hear a sermon and sing again.
At the 11 AM service there is a story for young children before they
head off to classes.
You are welcome in whatever way feels comfortable to you. Many attend
for some time until they feel comfortable calling this their spiritual
home. Our services are open to anyone regardless of belief, financial
means or place in life. Welcome!
